UNPACKING THE WORLD OF CROATIAN WINE
Wine production has existed in Croatia since the 6th Century BC, when the Greeks arrived on the stunning islands off the dazzling Adriatic coastline. More than twenty four centuries later, the wine culture continues to thrive, and the wines are rapidly starting to earn the recognition they deserve on the international scene, just as Croatia, in parallel, starts to blossom as a high profile tourist destination.
So why do we not know about this "new" old world wine nation in Ontario?
That is the exact question that resulted in the birth of Croatia Unpacked.
Our mission is clear and simple - to bring the unique and diverse experience of Croatian wine to the inquisitive Canadian wine consumer.
Allow us to transport you on a journey of discovery, through Croatia's varied wine regions, meeting the wine-makers, hearing their stories, experiencing the climate and terroir, and sampling along the way the indigenous varietals that have been part of the nation's history for millennia.
